 Tennessee
World Affairs Council --
Thanks
District Governor Robin Textor for alerting District
6780 Rotarians about the program opportunities
available through the Tennessee World Affairs
Council in the November 19, 2007 "Monday
Memo."
Here are
a couple of the ways the Tennessee World Affairs
Council and Tennessee Rotarians can work together:
Distinguished
Visiting Speaker Program -- the TN WAC has
embarked on an aggressive program of hosting
ambassadors and other diplomats, business people,
military officers, scholars, and other foreign
affairs specialists, in Tennessee schools,
universities, community activities and Rotary clubs.
We are looking to build a network of Rotary clubs
that would like to be contacted to see if they are
interested in having a foreign affairs speaker visit
their club. The TN WAC will make every effort
to bring speakers to every Rotary club that is open
to visits. Contact
us to get into the network. For more on
the Distinguished Visiting Speaker Program - click
here.
Tennessee
World Affairs Council briefings -- in addition to
the Distinguished Speakers Program the TN WAC is
available for briefings on the mission and programs
of the Council as well as briefings on various
international topics. Contact
TN WAC for more.
Academic
WorldQuest -- the TN WAC is seeking community
support for local high schools that field Academic
WorldQuest teams. Rotary clubs interested in
supporting students in their area can contact
TN WAC for more information on how they can
encourage and support this program. Click here
for more on Academic WorldQuest.
Great
Decisions Discussion Groups -- the TN WAC is a
facilitator of global awareness discussion groups,
especially using the Great Decisions program. Contact
the TN WAC for more information on how to get a
local program started. Great Decisions can be
a great way to encourage club fellowship by getting
small groups of Rotarians together to socialize
while learning something about the world and about
each other.
